Fourth-Quarter GDP Grew 0.6%

The U.S. economy grew at a 0.6 % annual growth rate in the fourth quarter, unchanged two preliminary estimates, according to a final figure issued Thursday by the Commerce Department.

The reading matched economists’ projections, Bloomberg reported.

The 0.6% fourth-quarter growth rate followed a 4.9% GDP expansion in the third quarter, which was the highest rate of growth in four years, according to Commerce.

Some economists said the U.S. economy was currently in recession, which is declined as two quarters of negative growth, Bloomberg reported.
