Dave Osiecki, formerly the chief of national advocacy at American Trucking Associations, was tapped to lead a Washington, D.C.-based transportation consulting firm, the firm announced on Nov. 14.

Osiecki will be president and CEO of Scopelitis Transportation Consulting LLC. There, he will focus on electronic logging device training as well as implementation support. Also, the firm will provide training and advice for motor carriers using or considering using the independent contractor model and regulatory training on rules prohibiting driver coercion. The firm also will make available reports and research papers to give clients access to information affecting their operations.

Scopelitis Transportation Consulting is a new, wholly-owned subsidiary created by Indianapolis-based Scopelitis, Garvin, Light, Hanson & Feary P.C.

“Dave has a depth of transportation-industry knowledge and experience that many of the Firm’s clients already value,” said Greg Feary, president and managing partner of the Scopelitis Law Firm. “Bringing Dave aboard seemed a natural progression for him in a respected career and is consistent with the Scopelitis Law Firm’s mission to offer a wide ranging menu of services across all transportation segments.”

ATA senior vice president and general counsel Prasad Sharma joined the law firm last year.
