ASHINGTON — John Hill, the new head of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, said the agency would soon publish several overdue regulations, including rules governing the use of electronic onboard recorders.

In addition, Hill, in an exclusive interview with Transport Topics Aug. 16, said he supported reviving SafeStat safety scores of motor carriers once an existing review of the program is completed.

Hill, who was sworn in as FMCSA’s third administrator on Aug. 10, said he would soon meet with the agency’s staff to give “them some focus and directions. We still have some ongoing priorities that we need to keep working on.”
