FedEx to Sell Japan Office Business to Konica

FedEx Corp. will sell the Japanese operations of its Office unit, the retail business formerly known as Kinko’s, to Konica Minolta Holdings, Bloomberg reported.

Japan’s Nikkei newspaper reported Tokyo-based Konica would pay about $100 million for the business.

The deal consists of 61 printing centers in Japan, a FedEx spokesman told Bloomberg.

FedEx, the second-largest U.S. package-delivery company, stopped using the Kinko’s name and rebranded the division as FedEx Office in 2008.

FedEx bought Kinko’s Inc. in 2004 for $2.4 billion, adding storefront businesses selling office products and printing services.

FedEx Corp. is ranked No. 2 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
