CTA Asks for Standard Anti-Rollover Technology

The Canadian Trucking Alliance said it is asking all the major North American heavy truck manufacturers to make anti-rollover technology standard equipment in their new vehicle packages.

“CTA is convinced that the current anti-rollover technology performs well with all types of tractor-trailer configurations and should become part of all standard new vehicle packages,” said CTA chief executive officer David Bradley.

Anti-rollover technology uses sensors to detect vehicle instability and will automatically ease the throttle and apply the brakes on a truck's steer, drive or trailer axles, as needed, to help the driver regain control of the vehicle, CTA said.
