Canada Cartage System Buys Doyle Transportation

Canada Cartage System has acquired Doyle Transportation, a trucking and warehouse service provider based in Guelph, Ontario, for an undisclosed amount.

Doyle provides dedicated contract carriage, dry van truckload and less-than-truckload freight transportation and operates a single 20,000-square-foot facility in Guelph with four cross-dock doors, warehouse space and truck maintenance bays. The company was founded in 1982.

All 60 employees at Doyle will be retained by Canada Cartage, company officials said.

The acquisition is expected to strengthen Canada Cartage’s service to customers in southwest Ontario and will complement Canada Cartage’s existing terminals and warehouse facilities located in London, Mississauga, Brampton and Oshawa in Ontario, according to a Nov. 8 statement from Canada Cartage.

Canada Cartage System is a portfolio company of U.S.-based investment firm Nautic Partners and ranks No. 62 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of largest for-hire carriers in North America.
