Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores founder Tom Love, who grew the company from a single service station to a chain of more than 600 truck stop locations nationwide, died March 7, the company announced. He was 85.

Prestolite Electric Inc. announced its LoadHandler Power Products brand of starters and alternators are available at Love’s Travel Stops’ nationwide network of Love’s Truck Care and Speedco locations.

Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores announced the opening of a location in Hazen, Ark., its 13th in the state, that has 111 parking spots for trucks.

Navistar International Corp. said it has signed a service partnership agreement with Love’s Travel Stops that would add more than 1,000 technicians to Navistar’s service network.

Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores added 95 truck parking spots in Oklahoma with the opening of a facility in El Reno on Nov. 8, according to a company press release. The 11,000-square-foot location about 27 miles outside Oklahoma City also created 50 jobs.

Love’s Travel Stops announced the opening of a facility in Berthoud, Colo., near the intersection of Interstate 25 and state Route 56 north of Denver. It has 82 truck parking spaces.

Love’s Travel Stops opened a facility in Millersburg, Ore., off Interstate 5.

Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores opened a travel stop in Abilene, Kan., at exit 272 along Interstate 70. The site includes 74 truck-parking spots, five showers, laundry facilities and a Love’s Truck Tire Care center.

Love’s Travel Stops now is serving customers at three new travel stops in Florida, New Mexico and North Carolina.
