Xata Reports Smaller Loss in Fiscal 2Q

Transportation software firm Xata Corp. said it lost $781,000, or 7 cents per share, in its fiscal second quarter, compared with a loss of $2.1 million, or 23 cents, a year earlier.

Revenue fell 7.5% in the fiscal quarter ended March 31 to $16.7 million, with a 6% increase in software revenue to $11.4 million, the company said.

Gross margins fell slightly to 48%, compared with 50% in the previous year, and Xata said it acquired 70 new customers in the quarter.
