Wider EOBR Rule Not Likely to Make Deadline

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration likely will not meet a deadline to issue a more expansive rule requiring fleets to use electronic onboard recorders, according to a new report.

In its April report on significant rulemakings, the Department of Transportation shifted the rule to a code “yellow,” which it said “means the rule is not likely to meet the schedule.”

Previously, the rule had been slated as “green,” meaning it would meet its December deadline.

The report did not indicate a reason for the delay.
