Werner Enterprises Co-Founder Gloria Werner Dies

Gloria Werner, co-founder of Werner Enterprises, died May 20.

She and then-husband Clarence Werner founded Werner Enterprises in 1956. Gloria Werner started out doing the bookkeeping and eventually oversaw financial transactions and handling of regulatory reporting to various government agencies.

After her retirement in 1984 from corporate life, she focused on her family.

She is survived by her children, Gary, who is chairman of the board for Werner, Greg, who is vice chairman and CEO of Werner, Gail Robertson, Curt Werner and 12 grandchildren.



Werner Enterprises ranks No. 13 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
