Volvo Group announced May 9 that it has appointed Stephen Roy to become the president of its Mack Trucks subsidiary.

Roy currently holds the position of head of region North America for Volvo Construction Equipment.

He is expected to take over his new position by June 1. Volvo also said  he will become a member of its executive board. He will report directly to Volvo Group CEO Martin Lundstedt.

Volvo said that Roy has held many senior positions since beginning his career at the company in 1996. That includes previously serving as president of Mack Trucks North America. He has also spent time in various leadership positions for the financial services division of both companies.

Roy will succeed retiring Mack Trucks President Martin Weissburg. He has served as a member of the Volvo Group executive board for over a decade and has been leader of Volvo Financial Services, Volvo Construction Equipment and Mack Trucks. He will now join the board of Nova Bus. — Transport Topics
