US 1 Turns First-Quarter Profit

Logistics firm US 1 Industries Monday reported a first-quarter profit of $100,000, compared with a $1 million loss a year ago.

Per-share, it earned 1 cent, compared with a 7-cent loss a year ago. Revenue rose 7.5% to $47.5 million, while operating income rose to $800,000, from an $800,000 operating loss.

The revenue increase was primarily attributable to an “increase of load activity” which it attributed “to a slight improvement of the general economy,” the company said in a statement.

US 1 provides financial resources, insurance and information technology to the trucking and logistics industries.
