UPS Appoints Jim Barber as Chief Operating Officer

Atlanta-based UPS Inc. announced it is appointing Jim Barber as chief operating officer.

UPS ranks No. 1 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest North American for-hire carriers.



Barber, who has been president of UPS International since 2013 and started at the company as a delivery driver in 1985, will now oversee distribution, forwarding, small-package delivery, brokerage and customers compliance.

The COO position has been vacant since the last COO, David Abney, was named CEO in 2014. To fill the position Barber is vacating, 27-year UPS veteran Nando Cesarone is being named international president.
