Universal Truckload’s Profit Improves

Universal Truckload Services’ second-quarter operating income rose from a year ago.

Net income rose to $14.2 million, or 47 cents a share, compared with pro forma earnings of $11.7 million, or 52 cents, a year ago.

Revenue held at about $264 million. Intermodal revenue rose 15.8% to $33.6 million and its overall income from operations rose 23% to $23.6 million.
