Volvo AB said United Auto Workers union employees at its Mack Trucks unit have approved a new 40-month labor agreement.

The UAW backed a deal that will establish a trust to take over Mack’s employee health-care commitments at a cost of $110 million to Volvo, the company said in a statement Sunday.

The agreement still must be approved by the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, which could take up to a year, Volvo said.

Volvo AB is the parent of Mack Trucks and Volvo Trucks North America.
