Attorneys for an Ohio trucking company are seeking to consolidate several federal lawsuits filed against Pilot Flying J in U.S. District Court in Cleveland, the Plain Dealer reported.

Attorneys for Ohio Auto Delivery, Grove City, Ohio, cited that court’s expertise in handling such complex cases, the Cleveland newspaper reported.

They filed their request with the U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation, saying the court “will most effectively promote the just and efficient conduct of these related actions,” the Plain Dealer reported, citing the filing.

That panel, which is expected to consider the request in July, selects which judges will handle proceedings of similar cases that were filed across the country, the newspaper reported.

Two Pilot Flying J employees pleaded guilty last week in the ongoing fuel-rebate investigation by federal authorities against the truck-stop chain.

Pilot Flying J CEO Jimmy Haslam took questions from trucking companies at a forum last month in Indianapolis, at which he said he was unaware of wrongdoing by company employees.
