Trimble to Acquire Forestry Logistics Software Company

Trimble said Sept. 19 it will acquire forestry logistics software company Asset Forestry Limited. Terms were not disclosed.

Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Trimble said the acquisition of the New Zealand company will expand its portfolio of timber dispatch technology. The deal is expected to close by the end of month.

“The addition of Asset's technology and domain expertise further strengthens Trimble’s position as a global leader in forestry solutions,” Ken Moen, general manager of Trimble’s Forestry Division, said in a statement.

“Many of Asset’s existing customers will be able to leverage Trimble’s broad range of solutions including field hardware and software solutions for data collection, said Moen.

He added that customers also may benefit from enterprise solutions for record keeping, forestry management and log accounting to improve productivity and operations.

Asset Forestry Limited will be part of Trimble’s forestry division and will be reported as part of its mobile solutions segment.
