GREENSBORO, N.C. — Snider Fleet Solutions recently acquired 27 locations from TCI Tire Centers, which the company said makes it one of the largest commercial tire dealers in the United States.

Snider Fleet Solutions, which started as a single dealership in 1976, said it now can distribute into 75% of the continental United States, with more than 80 tire and mechanical service locations.

“This acquisition extends our coverage throughout the eastern United States,” CEO John Snider said in a statement.

Terms of the acquisition weren’t disclosed.

The acquisition extends Snider’s coverage in Alabama, Mississippi, Virginia and Louisiana and adds locations in Florida, Texas, and Tennessee. Also, the company said it now has 11 retread plants, which allow it to produce 3,300 medium-truck tire retreads per day.

Snider also said it recently introduced a proprietary information management system. Its “FleetSMART” technology allows technicians to service trucks according to that fleet’s service guide.

“Now our customers will know their fleet is being managed exactly to their specs across more of the U.S,” said Marty Herndon, executive vice president and chief operating officer.

The new locations also bring the total number of employees to more than 1,500, the company said.
