Trailer-tracking provider SkyBitz said June 23 it has agreed to buy Reltima and GPS North America, two telematics companies in the local fleet-management market.

Terms were not disclosed, and SkyBitz said it expects the acquisitions to close in early July.

Reltima, headquartered in Woburn, Massachusetts, provides GPS fleet tracking and fleet performance optimization designed for light-duty vehicle fleets. GPS North America, based in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, is Reltima’s largest distribution partner.

The acquisition will allow SkyBitz “to rapidly expand our footprint in the growing commercial telematics market,” said Doug Milner, CEO of SkyBitz’s parent company, Telular Corp.

GPS North America’s services include asset tracking, hours-of-service compliance, vehicle/driver dispatch and fleet reporting, under the SignalTrack brand.
