Schneider launched a new marketplace to give shippers access to an expanded and flexible capacity network, the company announced June 1.

The Green Bay, Wis.-based transportation and logistics services provider said it is leveraging the strength of its trailer pool and carrier relationships. In turn, Schneider FreightPower aims to give shippers more access to capacity and provides on-demand storage and transportation.

“We operate one of the largest North American freight networks, with over 12,000 trucks and 35,000 trailers,” Erin Van Zeeland, group senior vice president of Schneider Logistics Services, said in a statement. “In addition to our vast equipment assets, we have relationships with more than 34,000 carriers, all ready to carry customer loads each and every day.”

Schneider FreightPower is meant to utilize the large trailer pool at its disposal to help shippers of all sizes find capacity. That includes challenging markets and locations as well as for surge capacity needs. It also seeks to optimize supply chains by combining advanced analytics and personalized expertise.

“Because Schneider is always delivering, always ahead, we’re constantly investing in new ways to provide shippers with more capacity,” Schneider CEO Mark Rourke said. “Schneider FreightPower is a powerful example of that commitment.”
