Schneider Expands Regional Service to Midwest, Southeast

Schneider National said Tuesday that it has expanded its regional service to 14 additional states, bringing the total number of states covered under the service to 29.

The truckload carrier had originally planned the expansion later this year or early in 2010, but “customer response to the regional option exceeded our expectations,” Marc Rogers, vice president and general manager of Schneider Regional, said in a statement.

The original area covered under regional service included the western and south-central United States, Schneider said. The expansion brings midwestern and southeastern states into the service area.

Schneider is ranked No. 9 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
