Schneider Adopts Predictive Analytics from FleetRisk

FleetRisk Advisors said truckload carrier Schneider will adopt its driver safety and driver retention predictive analytics models throughout its fleet, marking the technology supplier’s largest deployment.

FleetRisk’s platform analyzes a variety of data streams collected by a fleet to identify patterns and changes in driver behavior and determine which drivers are most likely to be in a crash or leave the company in the near future.

Based on that information, fleets can proactively coach those drivers to mitigate the risk, FleetRisk said.

FleetRisk, a business unit of Omnitracs, said Schneider decided to expand the predictive model across all lines of business covering more than 13,500 drivers after a three-month pilot.

“I have always believed that crashes don’t happen by accident and that prevention is key to safety,” Don Osterberg, Schneider’s senior vice president of safety and security, said in the March 6 announcement.

Schneider ranks No. 6 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
