Samsara has further integrated its fleet management software with LoadMaster Enterprise, the trucking technology company announced Feb. 3.

San Francisco-based Samsara stated the move has streamlined dispatching and fleet management for customers. Samsara and LoadMaster had an integration platform, and these changes are intended to improve on that.

“With an industrywide driver shortage impacting many of our customers, providing an intuitive experience in the field is essential,” Sean McGee, director of product management at Samsara, said in a statement. “This expanded integration shares data seamlessly and immediately across both Samsara and McLeod platforms, creating a better experience for drivers and dispatchers alike.”

LoadMaster is a full-trucking dispatch operations management system developed by McLeod Software. The existing integration made it easier for customers to transfer GPS and driver hours-of-service logs with the two systems. This was intended to help dispatchers match loads to nearby drivers.

Samsara is looking to improve on that by launching a streamlined workflow integration between the systems. The improvements promise to help dispatchers directly manage their operations, communicate directly with drivers and track trailer assets within LoadMaster.

“We are excited to work with Samsara to bring this important upgrade to our customer community,” Robert Brothers, manager of product development at McLeod Software, said in a statement. “Automated dispatch workflow is a key element in realizing the benefits our two products can bring to carrier operators and drivers.”

The integration is intended to help improve the driver experience and productivity by including HOS, routing, forms and driver vehicle inspection reports on one app. They also can easily share updates with dispatchers and bring real-time trailer GPS data from Samsara into LoadMaster.

Dispatchers will be able to use the app to plan and assign loads to drivers. They also will be able to include route notes for the drivers such as shipping details and specific delivery instructions. Dispatchers can track active orders with real-time GPS and updates.

Samsara is offering a free trial on their website for people who are not yet customers.
