Saia Inc. has acquired Dallas-based logistics firm LinkEx for about $25 million.

LinkEx, founded in 2002, has 50 employees and generated revenue of $36 million in 2014, according to Saia.

Saia said the purchase price is subject to LinkEx meeting growth expectations. The Texas firm provides supply chain design and warehousing, as well as domestic and international transportation.

“The acquisition of LinkEx is a nice fit for Saia in our effort to grow our portfolio of services in the asset-light market,”  Saia President Rick O’Dell said in a statement.

“I am pleased to have the senior management team from LinkEx onboard and excited that they will be assuming leadership responsibilities and setting a course for the continued growth of our asset-light product offering,” O’Dell added.

Saia ranks No. 25 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
