Roadrunner Reports Higher 1Q Profit

Roadrunner Transportation Systems’ first-quarter profit climbed to $10.6 million, or 29 cents a share, from $7.9 million, or 25 cents, a year ago.

Revenue rose to $299 million from $237 million a year ago, the company said late Wednesday.

Less-than-truckload revenue, including fuel surcharges, rose 11.5%, to $132.7 million, while truckload revenue jumped 49.5% to $146.5 million.

Its transportation management solutions segment’s revenue rose 3.7% to $21.4 million.



Roadrunner announced two acquisitions earlier this week — logistics firm Adrian Carriers and Wando Trucking.

Roadrunner is ranked No. 32 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
