Purolator Courier, Teamsters Agree on New Pact

Canadian parcel carrier Purolator Courier said it has reached a tentative contract with the Teamsters that covers about 10,000 union members.

No details of the pact have been released until the union’s membership votes on the contract. The vote is expected to take several weeks.

Statements from both sides show that the company and the union are happy with the outcome.

Teamsters Union leadership said in a statement that they had won “significant gains.”

“We are very pleased with the progress of contract negotiations and are looking forward to the ratification of an agreement between Purolator and our unionized teammates,” Purolator CEO Tom Schmitt said in a statement.

Purolator Courier is a unit of Purolator Inc., which is ranked No. 19 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
