Trucking-technology supplier Omnitracs said it has appointed Michael Ham as general manager and vice president of its Canadian business division, Omnitracs Canada.

Ham, who brings more than 20 years of experience in wireless technology to his new role, was previously vice president at Shaw Communications.

“We’re poised to expand throughout Canada, and Ham has the experience needed to help us bring customers unmatched value by reducing operating costs and improving operational efficiencies,” said David Post, Omnitracs’ president and chief operating officer.

Having joined Shaw Communications in 1995, Ham was responsible for Shaw’s Tracking division, a telematics provider to the Canadian transportation industry. Under his guidance, the division grew from $1 million in annual revenue to more than $50 million, Omnitracs said.

Prior to working at Shaw, Ham held positions at Rogers Communications and Motorola Solutions.
