Old Dominion’s 4Q Income Dips

Less-than-truckload carrier Old Dominion Freight Line said Thursday its fourth-quarter profit dipped to $15.7 million, or 42 cents a share, from $17.8 million, or 48 cents, a year ago.

Revenue rose 12.3% to $358.7 million, ODFL said.

For the full year, net income fell to $71.8 million, or $1.93 per share, from $72.6 million, or $1.95, in 2006. Revenue rose 9.5% to a record $1.4 billion.

Previously, ODFL had lowered its outlook for its full-year profit, saying it would be $1.92 to $1.95 per share, from a previous range of $2 to $2.05. It said previously its fourth-quarter profit would be 41 cents to 44 cents a share.



Old Dominion Freight Line is ranked No. 20 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
