Oil Falls for Second Straight Day

Crude oil fell Monday morning for the second day in a row, reaching $68.02 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, Bloomberg reported.

Friday saw a 3.7% drop in futures for October delivery, closing $69.29 in the largest drop in two weeks. The price had risen for four days prior to the drop, Bloomberg said.

The $68.02 figure Monday was a drop of $1.27, or 1.8%.

A report last week from the Department of Energy showed that distillate fuel stockpiles are at their highest since 1983, Bloomberg said.
