Steven Clark Takes Top Honors at Surprising Utah Truck Driving Championships
The unexpected was the norm at the Utah Truck Driving Championships in Salt Lake City on June 1.
Defending Grand Champion Russell Atkin finished fifth in the Tank Trunk division, and rookie William Plevney took first place in the 5-Axle.
When the dust settled, FedEx Freight driver Steven Clark was the 2019 Grand Champion after besting his closest challenger by 62 points in the 3-Axle class

Preview: Will it be twice as nice for Russell Atkin at the Utah Trucking Driving Championships? The UPS Freight driver will be aiming for his second consecutive Tank Truck crown (and trip to the National Truck Driving Championships) at the state event May 31- June 1.
Some 150 drivers are scheduled to compete at the 50-acre Utah State Fairpark in Salt Lake City, where the event has been held for more than 30 years. Course layout:

Atkin
UPS Freight driver Russell Atkin was crowned Grand Champion at the Utah Truck Driving Championships, competing in the Tank Truck division.
Atkin is bound for Columbus, Ohio, with eight other drivers who will represent Utah at the National Truck Driving Championships in August.
The state event is sponsored and conducted by the Utah Safety Management Council.
