2019 Recap

Gary Wrobel is a patient man.

The 32-year Martin Brower employee first earned a No. 1 finish in the 5-Axle competition at the Michigan Truck Driving Championships in 1999.

Twenty years later, he won the 5-Axle again, and added the Grand Champion title at the competition June 7-8.

“It’s been 20 years since I got the first place, but then when I got the Grand Champion, I was just beaming,” he said.

2019 Preview

When: June 7-8, 2019

Where: Lansing, Mich.

Field: More than 90 truck drivers are expected to compete in eight categories.

Preview: Jason Johnson of XPO Logistics will be back to defend his Grand Champion title. He's moving to 4-Axle this year after winning in the 3-Axle division last year and placing No. 7 in that category at the 2018 National Truck Driving Championships. He was Michigan's top finisher in any category at nationals.
Michigan's TDC is held in conjunction with its SuperTech competition. SuperTech is a knowlege and hands-on skills competition for service technicians. The competition includes FutureTech for students.

2018 Recap

Johnson

Jason Johnson of XPO Logistics took home the title of Grand Champion at the Michigan Truck Driving Championships in Lansing in June.

Johnson competed in the 3-Axle division and headed to Columbus, Ohio, for the NTDC.

He placed No. 7 in the 3-Axle at the 2018  National Truck Driving Championships, and was Michigan's top finisher in any category at nationals.
