New Class 8 truck orders rose 5.7% in November to 21,200 from the same month last year, though they fell from October’s level which was the highest in nearly two years, ACT Research reported Dec. 3.

October’s North American heavy-truck orders figure was revised down by less than 100 units to 26,215 orders, ACT said. That was the highest since December 2011.

Despite the month-to-month backslide, with the exception of October, the figure was the largest since May and marked the 10th consecutive month of year-over-year increases, ACT said.

Year-to-date, orders stand at 235,783, up 13.5% compared with the first 11 months of 2012.
