Schneider has named Mark Rourke executive vice president and chief operating officer for the Green Bay, Wisconsin-based trucking and logistics service provider.

Rourke will be responsible for day-to-day operations of all of the company’s freight services in North America, Schneider CEO Chris Lofgren said in a statement Sept. 17.

Rourke has been with Schneider for 28 years and has held a variety of management positions, including president of truckload services, vice president of customer service and director of driver training.

Lofgren said the change will allow him to focus more time on “strategic growth and long-term positioning” as well as regulatory and government affairs.

“Schneider is looking to grow both organically and through acquisition to increase its market share,” Lofgren said. “This new structure will enable that and accelerate our ability to create value for customers, associates and our business.”

Schneider ranks No. 7 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest for-hire carriers in the United States and Canada.
