Mack Trucks is celebrating a century of operations in Canada, the company announced April 26.

The Greensboro, N.C.-based truck manufacturing company began its move into Canada after noticing the growing demand in the truck market. Mack Trucks of Canada Ltd. was founded in 1921 in a small building in downtown Toronto.

“Mack’s leadership in commercial vehicles goes back more than 120 years, and we’ve proudly served Canada and its diverse regions and demanding applications throughout much of that history,” Jonathan Randall, senior vice president of North American sales and commercial operations at Mack Trucks, said in a statement. “It’s an honor for Mack to be part of Canada’s story, and to recognize Mack’s commitment to helping build and sustain the needs of the country.”

Mack Trucks of Canada started by providing Mack AB and AC models. The company eventually moved to a succession of larger facilities in Toronto as sales continued to grow. The company also expanded its sales and dealer network to all parts of the country.

Mack Trucks introduced a special badge to commemorate the anniversary that will be used in various applications throughout the year.
