Mack Trucks told Transport Topics it is exploring new ways of working and possible approaches to production that would allow for increased social distancing when its Lehigh Valley truck assembly plant in Pennsylvania reopens.

Mack temporarily suspended production at the plant March 19, and it is scheduled to reopen April 3. Mack is a unit of Volvo Group. Mack’s Lehigh Valley operations assembles all heavy-duty Mack trucks sold in North America and export markets.

“The health and safety of our employees and communities continues to be our primary concern as we work to make the most informed decisions we can during this uncertain time,” the company in a statement. — Transport Topics
