Love’s Travel Stops will begin accepting fuel payment at its facilities through Relay Payments’ digital remuneration system, the companies said Sept. 23.

Truck drivers and fleets can now use Relay Payments’ digital network at more than 2,200 truck stops across the U.S. following the partnership with the Oklahoma City-based chain. Love’s operates more than 640 truck stops across 42 states.

Relay previously signed partnerships with truck stop owners including Pilot Travel Centers, which has nearly 900 locations across 44 U.S. states and six Canadian provinces; Maverik, which has more than 400 facilities; Yesway; Ambest; and Onvo.

Among the fleets that have already teamed up with Relay in an effort to aid drivers and reduce fraud such as card skimming are Schneider, Coyote Logistics and Old Dominion Freight Line.

ODFL ranks No. 8 on the Transport Topics Top 100 for-hire carriers in North America and is the No. 2 ranked less-than-truckload carrier. Schneider ranks No. 9 on the TT for-hire Top 100. Coyote Logistics ranks No. 4 on TT’s list of the largest freight brokerages in North America. Recently, it was acquired by RXO.

In October 2023, Relay started offering a freight payment option specifically targeted at brokers called RelayDirect. The system allows brokers to automate their carrier and factor payments, offer flexible payment terms and improve cash flow.

Since launching in 2023, Relay’s network has been used by more than 400,000 drivers and 100,000 carriers. The company said it has now processed millions of transactions with zero instances of fraud.

“Relay’s acceptance at leading fueling stops speaks to the rapid adoption of our solutions and the industry’s need for a comprehensive and secure digital payment network,” said CEO Ryan Droege.

“Our mission is to build an end-to-end digital payments network designed specifically for the trucking and logistics industry, helping fleets and drivers keep more of their earnings and reduce frustrations,” he added.
