LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Kenworth Truck Co. unveiled its new T880 vocational truck here Wednesday at the Mid-America Trucking Show.

The company also introduced a new version of the T680, called Advantage. The T680 was introduced last year at MATS, and the new version displays the company’s idea for optimal spec’ing to maximize fuel efficiency.

The T880, available for production this summer, is aimed for dump, mixer, refuse and heavy haul applications, the company said.

The 12.9-liter Paccar MX-13 engine will be standard, Kenworth said. The T880 will also be available with the Cummins ISX15 engine.

Kenworth, a unit of Paccar Inc., said other highlights of the new model are a lightweight aluminum cab, panoramic windshield and dual lamp complex reflector headlamps.

Meanwhile, the truck maker said the updated T680, also on display here, is its most aerodynamic model ever. It includes engine software updates and oil viscosity changes, among other updates.
