Jobless Claims Decline for Week

Initial jobless claims fell from a two-month high, declining 19,000 last week, the Labor Department said Thursday.

The drop to 457,000 claims for the week ended Saturday was below economists’ forecasts of a decline to 463,000, Bloomberg reported.

The four-week moving average, a less volatile measure, fell to 462,750 from 464,250 the previous week.

Continuing claims for the previous week ended June 12 fell 45,000 to 4.55 million, Labor said.
