Indiana Announces New CDL Program

The lieutenant governor of Indiana announced a workforce training program to help provide certified truck drivers to the logistics industry in Wells County and surrounding areas.

The program will fund 20 students for truck driver training at Ivy Tech Community College, leading to their commercial driver license certification.

“This program is an excellent example of a workforce training program being developed to meet a specific need of local businesses and then using the resources of Ivy Tech to provide the training,” Indiana Lt. Gov. Sue Ellspermann said.

The CDL Program is a collaboration involving Wells County Economic Development Agency, the Indiana Department of Workforce Development and Ivy Tech.
