Idle Smart Adds Battery Protection

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Idle Smart said it has added a new battery-monitoring feature, the company announced during a press conference here March 9 at the Technology & Maintenance Council’s annual meeting.

Battery Protect continuously monitors battery voltage levels and starts a truck’s engine to recharge batteries when they drop below a pre-set level, helping to ensure that the vehicle will start when a driver is ready to go on the road.

Idle Smart President Jeff Lynch said Battery Protect will come standard with new shipments of the Idle Smart system, which is designed to save fuel by automatically starting and stopping a truck’s engine to maintain a comfortable cabin temperature.
