GXO Logistics has finished its search for a new CEO with the appointment of Patrick Kelleher, the company announced June 20.
The Greenwich, Conn.-based contract logistics provider highlighted his more than three decades of experience while calling him a seasoned supply chain leader. Kelleher has worked across numerous verticals and led strategic initiatives across the supply chain, and his career has included senior executive roles at DHL Supply Chain. He will assume his new leadership role Aug. 19.
“Patrick is a world-class operator with the relevant experience to lead GXO through its next phase of growth,” GXO Board Chairman Brad Jacobs said. “His proven track record and deep expertise in engineered solutions, automation and cutting-edge contract logistics make him uniquely qualified to drive value for our customers and shareholders. We’re thrilled to welcome him as our new CEO.”

Wilson
Malcolm Wilson announced his retirement as CEO in December 2024 after serving in the position since the company launched in August 2021. He has since continued to lead it during the executive search process for his successor.
“I am excited to join GXO, a company at the forefront of the logistics industry,” Kelleher said. “I look forward to working with the talented team at GXO to build on its strong foundation, continue to innovate, and deliver exceptional value to our customers and shareholders.”

TD Cowen noted in a report that the company has been facing three main hurdles in the first quarter with its search for a new CEO, customer churn and a prolonged regulatory review of its planned acquisition of Wincanton. But now the financial services firms view the company as moving past those uncertainties with the CEO search ending a week after the acquisition was approved.
“GXO also announced a CEO pick last week whose U.S. focus and experience at a large global competitor bode well for growth and industrial vertical penetration,” Cowen analyst Jason Seidl wrote in the report. “Evidence suggests 1Q customer churn was a nonrecurring headwind. The company’s pipeline remains strong, and investors we met with looked past the recent customer re-alignment.”
TD Cowen concluded the company should unlock meaningful organic growth despite an uncertain macro backdrop given its win rate for new business. GXO also remains well positioned, according to the report, to embrace the next generation of technology.

“This role comes at a pivotal time, and we will use our expertise and product solutions to adapt and grow, ensuring that we remain a key partner to our customers,” Kunar said. “Together with our talented team, I am confident that we will drive DHL Supply Chain North America forward to even greater success.”
