GlobalTranz Acquires AJR Transportation

Phoenix-based logistics firm GlobalTranz Enterprises Inc. completed another acquisition, it’s fifth in the past 12 months, with the purchase of AJR Transportation on Jan. 10.

Based in Houston, AJR Transportation offers truckload, LTL and expedited freight brokerage and transportation management services and has worked with GlobalTranz as an independent freight agent.

“We have worked with GlobalTranz for five years,” said Wayne Waggoner, owner and founder of AJR Transportation. “Its technology platform coupled with its back-office support have helped us grow tremendously, providing significant value to our customers.”

GlobalTranz Chairman and CEO Bob Farrell said the addition of personnel from AJR Transportation will help accelerate his company’s growth.



“AJR Transportation has a deep knowledge of the industry, a strong customer service focus and the ability to share valuable insights with our freight agents,” Farrell said in a statement. “We’re excited to have this team on board.”

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Over the past year, GlobalTranz has acquired Utah-based Apex Logistics Group, Global Freight Source in Milwaukee, Wis., Logistics Planning Services in Minneapolis, Minn., and Worthington Logistics Solutions in Richmond, Va.
