Gasoline rose less than a penny in the past two weeks to $3.59 a gallon, according to the latest Lundberg Survey of filling stations released Sunday.

Despite the relatively flat price, gasoline futures have jumped more than 35 cents in the three weeks ended Friday, Bloomberg News reported.

Analyst Trilby Lundberg’s latest survey, which covered the three-week period ended Friday, is released twice a month.

Oil prices have spiked about $12 in the past three weeks, to more than $105 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, Bloomberg figures showed.

Chicago had the highest price among cities surveyed, at $4.04, though the price dropped almost 20 cents in the past three weeks following a period in which the Midwest saw its fuel prices rise sharply due to refinery outages.

Charleston, S.C., had the lowest price, at $3.22 a gallon.

The Department of Energy will release its weekly survey of diesel and gasoline pump prices Monday afternoon in Washington.
