Gasoline Rises 19¢ to $2.49 a Gallon

The national average price of regular gasoline jumped 19 cents in the past two weeks to $2.49 a gallon, rising with the highest oil prices in six months, according to the latest Lundberg Survey of filling stations released Sunday.

Oil closed Friday at more than $66.31 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, the highest price since early November, Bloomberg reported.

Gas has now risen 44 cents per gallon in the past five weeks and 54 cents over the past 10 weeks, according to Lundberg figures.

The lowest price was in Phoenix at $2.22 a gallon, while the highest was in Chicago at $2.76.



The Energy Department will release its weekly diesel and gasoline price survey Monday afternoon in Washington.
