Average U.S. retail gasoline prices jumped 20 cents in the past two weeks to $2.55 a gallon, according to the latest Lundberg Survey of filling stations released Sunday.Wholesale gasoline futures rose to more than $1.92 a gallon on March 8, the highest in more than six months, as production slowdowns at several North American refineries and higher demand led to declines in U.S. inventories, Bloomberg reported. The twice-monthly survey covered the period of Feb. 24 through Friday. The previous survey had cited an increase of 13 cents in the prior two weeks. The highest price for self-serve regular gasoline was $3.10 a gallon in San Francisco, Lundberg reported. The lowest was in Anchorage, Alaska, at $2.22.
