Gasoline Average Drops a Dime, Lundberg Reports

Gasoline prices fell 10 cents in the past two weeks to $2.56 per gallon, according to latest Lundberg Survey of fuel prices released Sunday.

Mid-grade averaged $2.69 and premium averaged $2.80, analyst Trilby Lundberg said in her twice-monthly survey, which was conducted Friday

The drop followed a steady level the previous two weeks, which had followed 17- and 19-cent gains in the previous two-week periods.

The lowest price was in Wichita, Kan., at $2.26, while Honolulu had the highest, at $3.20.

The Energy Department will release its weekly diesel and gasoline price survey Monday afternoon in Washington, and oil prices fell to below $60 a barrel last week, down more than $11 from early the previous week.
