The country’s top transportation officer will offer an outlook for the transportation landscape at the Center for American Progress on March 30.

According to the Washington, D.C.-based think tank summary of the event, Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx will detail a plan meant to boost social inclusivity in transportation programs and infrastructure projects.

The idea behind the secretary’s talk being that through improvements in connectivity, be it people or freight, the citizenry will have a better chance at realizing upward mobility.

“We’re going to continue do the work of transforming our government for the 21st century . . . [with] innovation and technology that will improve people’s lives and connect them to opportunities,” Foxx said at the Transportation Research Board’s annual meeting in January.

The Center for American Progress event is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m.
