Foxx Names Former Facebook Exec as His Chief of Staff

Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx has named former Facebook executive Sarah Feinberg as his chief of staff.

Susan Hendrick, deputy press secretary at the Department of Transportation, confirmed Thursday that Foxx chose Feinberg, who managed Facebook’s Washington-based outreach and communications and the social media company’s political and crisis communications.

Feinberg worked as a special assistant to President Obama and as senior advisor to then-White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, who is now mayor of Chicago.

She was previously director of communications and business strategy at Bloomberg News, where she managed Bloomberg’s Washington-based communications.
