Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx is scheduled to speak about the role public-private partnerships (P3s) play in transportation at the Long-term Infrastructure Investors Association's second annual meeting in Washington, D.C.

During his time as secretary, Foxx has championed local governments’ efforts in connecting with investors to access private capital for big-ticket infrastructure projects.

“This nation is facing an infrastructure deficit. Yet we know that our country is growing — and that we’re going to have more people accessing our roads, rails and airports than ever before, and more freight to move than ever before,” Foxx said earlier this summer.

The event will be held Sept. 22 at the Ritz-Carlton on 22nd Street NW.

On Sept. 24, Foxx is scheduled to attend Pope Francis’ address to a joint session of Congress.
