FourKites said its load-tracking platform is now available for shippers and third-party logistics providers using Oracle’s transportation management system.

The FourKites integration, which enables Oracle customers to connect with their carriers, is available with Oracle Transportation Management Cloud and Oracle Transportation Management version 6.3 or higher.

FourKites said it can provide tracking through integrations with more than 45 providers of electronic logging devices and trailer tracking systems. In addition to ELDs, FourKites also offers tracking via proprietary smartphone apps as well as cellular tower triangulation for trucks that have not yet installed an ELD.

The company said it tracks truck locations every 15 minutes, recalculates estimated time of arrival using real-time location, traffic and weather data, and automates arrivals and departures using geofencing.

Marty Wadle, senior vice president of supply chain solutions for Ruan Transport, said the FourKites integration with OTM allows his fleet to proactively manage shipments on company and carrier partner assets.

“Our customers and their customers have access to real-time visibility of their freight, which lets us closely monitor on-time performance,” he said. “If a delay is identified, we work with carriers and customers in areas ranging from re-sequencing dock schedules to expediting, which helps us minimize supply chain impacts.”
